Simon Poole is an award-winning, BIPOC Canadian composer known for creating dynamic and impactful scores for film, television, advertising and video games. He scored the documentary Black Ice, executive produced by Drake and LeBron James, which had a gala premiere at TIFF 2022 and won the People’s Choice Documentary Award.
Simon also scored the TV series Overlord and the Underwoods (MarbleMedia), created by Anthony Q. Farrell (The Office, Run the Burbs) and the long running crime docudrama Fear Thy Neighbor (Discovery). He has also written additional music for Vikings: Valhalla (Netflix) and Big Sky (ABC) alongside his mentor and Emmy-winning composer, Trevor Morris.
Simon has toured Canada as a member of Toronto rock band The Dying Arts, sharing billings with iconic bands like Weezer, Wu-Tang Clan and The Prodigy and has opened up for punk veterans Anti-Flag and Rusty.
Simon is a graduate of the UCLA Film Scoring Program and is an alumnus of the Slaight Music Residency. Simon is a citizen of Canada, the United Kingdom and Trinidad & Tobago, and lives in Toronto with his wife and children.
